چکیده

Results Compared to controls, TrkA mRNA expression was markedly lower in blood MC of JIA patients (p<0.001). TrkA mRNA levels were similarlv low in SF MC of JIA patients. In vitro, we show that addition of NGF down-regulates IL-6 and IL-1 production and increases IL-10. Blocking the receptor TrkA resulted in enhanced activation of the NF-kB pathway, in increased inflammatory cytokine production and in decreased IL-10.

Ferulic acid, a phenolic compound with therapeutic effects in neuropsychiatric disorders, stimulates the production of nerve growth factor and endocannabinoids in rat brain

Introduction: Ferulic acid, a phenolic phytochemical with neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, has shown promising antidepressant-like effects in behavioral studies; however, its mechanism(s) of action have not been fully understood. Based on the contribution of nerve growth factor (NGF) and endocannabinoid signaling (eCBs) to the emotional or antidepressant activ...

Nerve growth factor downregulates inflammatory response in human monocytes through TrkA.

Nerve growth factor (NGF) levels are highly increased in inflamed tissues, but their role is unclear. We show that NGF is part of a regulatory loop in monocytes: inflammatory stimuli, while activating a proinflammatory response through TLRs, upregulate the expression of the NGF receptor TrkA. In turn, NGF, by binding to TrkA, interferes with TLR responses. In TLR-activated monocytes, NGF reduce...

Computational and pharmacological investigation of novel 1,5-diaryl-1,4-pentadien-3-one derivatives for analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anticancer potential

Objective(s): The novel 1,5-diaryl-1,4-pentadien-3-one derivatives were studied for analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anticancer potential to establish their role in pain, inflammatory disorders and cancer.Materials and Methods: Two 1,5- diaryl-1,4-pentadien-3-one derivatives: (1E,4E)- 5-(4-fluoro phenyl)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)- 2-methylpenta-1,4-dien-3-one (A2K2A17) and  (1E,4E)-5-(4-nitrophenyl)-...

p75-nerve growth factor as an antiapoptotic complex: independence versus cooperativity in protection from enediyne chemotherapeutic agents.

Growth factors, including nerve growth factor (NGF), have been hypothesized to play a role in resistance to chemotherapeutic agent-induced apoptosis. Induction by NGF of resistance to apoptosis is primarily thought to be the result of its binding to its high-affinity receptor, TrkA. The low-affinity NGF receptor, p75, has long been thought merely to facilitate NGF binding to TrkA. However, we h...

β-Nerve growth factor attenuates hepatocyte injury induced by D-galactosamine in vitro via TrkA NGFR.

Nerve growth factor (NGF) regulates the proliferation, differentiation and survival of cells and is also involved in the wound healing and tissue remodeling processes. The biological effects of NGF are dependent upon receptor signal-mediating functions, which differ between cells. This study attempted to investigate the hepatoprotective effect and possible mechanism of β-NGF on D-galactosamine ...
